Hi,
Please would someone be kind enough to explain the rationale behind the following clues.

The Spanish always regular. (3) L?S Is it LOS if so why?

Not in any manner at present with one's sweetheart. (6) N?W?S? If the answer is NOWISE what is the sweetheart connection.

Thank you for any help or advice you are able to offer. Colin.
