I finished it without any difficulty this morning but didn't want to be the first to start a thread so thank you, Philip, and I agree with your observations about the three clues - 17d is dreadful.

Took a while this week 'cos i got stuck on 12a. It's the two different meanings of shower. I was thinking of a rabble and trying to make sense of it. 1hr 45mins. I'll send it in because the dvd player looks neat.

Just finished it but still don't get 17d. Thought 16a was the best clue too.

My main concern with 15a was the use of the word "concerning" in the clue. It has a very very tenuous connection to the answer
