Has anyone deciphered the preamble, or worked a way into either grid? I have cold solved maybe a quarter of the clues but know not where to go from here.
It's a matter of guesswork and mixing and matching to start with. If it helps, there is one Down clue per column in each grid (no word shorter than 4 letters) and one grid has two Across clues in each row with one row all barred.
