Hi Verity.

I put LAMINAR also and explain it as ... LAR (Libyan Arab Republic) around AMIN (Arabic word for 'amen' - 'to be firm/reliable').

Hi Verity,
I too put LAMINAR,but I got the AMIN bit by default, unlike Jim who has nailed it in one!
Best regards to you and Jim,
Jerry

Woah Verity!

Speaking for myself, I don't know most words and just 'cheat' by using the dictionary. Please don't tell anyone ...

I'm having trouble with 26 down:

Cup-holder's worn out, getting up after missing second half (4).

I already have ?ARF for it, although I'm not certain of the R (as I only partly understand the answer with it).

Any help appreciated!

Hi Jim,
Sorry to be so dilatory in replying to your post, been out most of the day. Worn out is
Frazzled,if you lose ZLED and bring the rest up
you gat ZARF which is an Arabic coffee cup
holder.
I hope you manage to finish this one!
Best wishes,
Jerry
