I'm really really not sure about this but in the absence of any other answers I'll go with:-

OPINE (Definition 'Say') - Halo = O + Cone (Fir) maker = PINE (Tree)

I'd go with that.
The 'say' is a misdirection indicating a homophone.

I'm glad to hear you say that Rossim, I was beginning to think it might be nonsense. I've been up all night practicing pentatonic scales and completely lost track of time. I think I'm suffering from sleep deprivation so I'll toddle off to bed for a few hours!
