Hi dorrien

Is a "kicker" a US expression for a drawback in a contract, or "reservation", perhaps? I'm not all that familiar with US slang.

Thanks, chrise. That's just what it is. I see that stevea used it too, @35. The rest of the clue is an allusion to the (lower-case) Parisian display of violence.

Thank-you all for the excellent turnout (Clues 37 Setters 16), I have a very tough job with so many excellent clues this week.
Seamus kicked off with a very strong entry @2. Other wordplays I liked were BBM2 @26, Ginge @38, Peterm @9 and Pigale's Trevi reference @39.
Lot's of anagrams notably Seamus @6, Fj @11 and Skye @21

However my pick is Paul @13 for the DD and nice misdirection

Booking made - hang up (11)

I hope you will enjoy some classic Seinfeld (2 mins)
