I can see blasts = cracks
Without means outside, but to me it doesn't need round the edge as well.

Forges=blast furnaces; vase = urn, and mug without => face => f-urn - ace; cracks = blasts - around the edge => blast-furnace-s

I agree , Rossim, surely "without" and "round the edge" mean the same thing here?

urn inside face = furnace (without)

and furnace inside blasts = blast furnaces (around the edge) ?
