8dn in another case I might be described as scatterbrained.

Dotty, ditsy or ditzy? Answer / clue to parsing appreciated.

Dotty. The letter 'i', lower case, in a different case case would have a dot. I,capital I, doesn't!

Is it just me, or is thee something odd about this week's? I found myself solving it from the bottom up which wasn't always very helpful.

Anyway I'm stuck, to my annoyance, on 2 :

4D - A painful separation, sacking church singer (4)
W?E?
&
28A - Spy creature found by baker, heading off (4)
N?R?

It is always possible some of the letters supplied aren't strictly accurate.....
