Why did you add "Nimrod" to your suggestion, dd?

Must have been in hibernation during the 70's never heard of bower boys.was considering bovver boys as I heard of bovver boots but was not sure

I thought they were called bover boys.

Bovver boys is the correct spelling.

Yes, Terry, I think that the VVomans oops Romans had a similar difficulty differentiating between vv and w.

Wish they had just asked about mods and rockers could have done better with that.
