Thanks for suggestions. I think the answers should be flowers and sweet pea is nearer the solution...will ponder!

I agree that Sweet Cecily is treated more as a herb or leaf vegetable.

But it does have flowers, is quite British and 'Cecily' is a girl's name (unlike 'Pea', although someone will probably now tell me that there are millions of girls called 'Pea' throughout the world!).

I'm not convinced myself by Sweet Cecily/Cicely, especially since you pointed out it's regarded as a herb - but there it is anyway for Freddo to ponder.

I give up. Shakespeare's sisters were named Joan and Margaret. Just William's sister was called Ethel,(Violet Bott was no relation). Please give another clue.

Already got violet as an answer. Did think of Willy who was an orca but cannot see the sister connection.Oh well..back to pondering!
