Hi Freddo.

There's a flower called 'Sweet William', so perhaps another flower, 'Sweet Cicely', is the answer?

Sweet Cicely is a herb but could the answer be sweet pea?

Thanks for suggestions. I think the answers should be flowers and sweet pea is nearer the solution...will ponder!

I agree that Sweet Cecily is treated more as a herb or leaf vegetable.

But it does have flowers, is quite British and 'Cecily' is a girl's name (unlike 'Pea', although someone will probably now tell me that there are millions of girls called 'Pea' throughout the world!).

Thanks Suki!

I'm not convinced myself by Sweet Cecily/Cicely, especially since you pointed out it's regarded as a herb - but there it is anyway for Freddo to ponder.
