34a Magic man's tree? (5)

PAWAW and PAWPAW fit the bill but that's not the right answer. I know what it is now but finding a solution that fitted but was wrong held me up for a while.

31 A. Showing weakness of will not having a party in Belfast (5)

Craic, party in Belfast, from...
Acratic, having weakness of will - remove the first A (not having a) and then remove the T, the additional letter. I worked backwards as I'd worked out that I needed the additional letter to be T.

I have almost completed this.
But need help with parsing.

30 Loosen a French friar (6)
Friar is tuck. un plus tuck/tack. I have conflict in the fourth letter.

26 Not drawing blood, lacking energy from resentment in
Perth (3)

What is resentment in Perth? R is the extra letter.

39, Bill’s piece of luck further along the shore (6)
I have up + 5-letter word for shore giving O as extra. But what is Bill's piece of luck?

Thanks.

yes it is untuck - Un in french and friar Tuck. Do you mean confict in a different letter?

It is Derry in Australia. So take e for energy out

Shakespeares word for luck - upcast - literally throwing things up in the air and the one landing near the mark is the winner - early form of National Lottery.

Good afternoon all. Am (for me that is) doing well with this EV but am having trouble with 27a in that of the letters I have some must be wrong because what I have looks very like only 3 words. For 34a is the spare letter H? If not, that is wrong too and I would welcome some help on 11 & 12a. Many thanks.
