There's a Christmas theme to the puzzle so looks like it could be SKATES but don't see the parsing

Any help much appreciated

Just seen the clue given elsewhere as...

Bladed footwear found at the desk at the entrance (6)


Skates has been offered but it doesn't parse well

Any further thoughts on SKATER being the answer would be appreciated. At first it looked like the answer would be within the clue (giving SKAT..) but this obviously doesn't work and I can't see where "entrance" comes in

Could it be that this is just a badly constructed/edited clue?

Feels like there's something missing somewhere , or maybe just poor as you say.

Could it be "skated" with the definition being "bladed"?
