This certainly is neither a dawdle or a doddle!!

I'm still stuck on 15, scattered in various place. Assistance with these may spur my brain cell into some kind of activity.

1A - Children are wandering round centre of largish Midlands town (9)
??D?????E
10A - Question a pitch's state (5)
??T?R
24D - Cases of amber, grey and lime displaying diamonds (6)
?A?G?L
25D - In which old government department actions sent up (5)
S?O??
46A - That is to make someone pay for grub (8)
S?????G?

As usual, I wouldn't swear by the validity of all the letters I've cited.

I'll now go & organize a little breakfast & see what response I get

Thanks to all those who have replied.

Yes, Chrise, I misread what I had put in for 24D. However I've never heard of Kidsgrove.

I'll soldier on with this assistance - I've already put a few more in & with any luck won't have to bother anyone further.
