UNEDITED is TIDE (as in "tome and...") in anagram "nude"

"time" not "tome" - and backwards, of course

Exhausted - beat with ER - monarch - beater?
Book - b taken amiss - ill - bill? Silver link is tenuous though?

Tenuous seems an understatement, AB!
