Hi

Your a in middle is wrong.
That cell is a clash.

The answer is anvils before being changed.

Arias which I suspect you have going down is correct but if you put the 2 clashes in the cell it produces a thematic name.

Please can anyone help with SE corner where I have six clues outstanding and, I think, two clashes?

29a Maybe sponges US tool after day working with spades - I have M-N at the start
43a Old underwear to the left and right of trees - I have second letter R
These might help me get to the finishing line. I have enjoyed this a lot. Many thanks

I have an almost full grid but only 9 of the 10 clashes. I'm stuck on 26d: 'Devout person strangely satisfied to lack sex appeal' (6).
If 26a is Marian then I have M?E?ST for 26d. I see that it's an anagram of 'satisfied' without the SA or without 'it' but that's as far as I can get. Any help gratefully received!

The clash is indeed this one at 26a and 26d
for 26d fideist is the devout person ...FI going in the 1st cell + M from Marian giving MFI ..the old furniture shop
