Could someone please explain why the obvious answer
to 20a.c. (When next in European city) (6) a?h?n? should be so?

I cannot see it.

Odd one for me, this. I kept thinking "this is quite hard", but didn't stall at any stage, and then suddenly it was done!

Was your Trackword just a mix of symbols, numbers and letter like mine?
Just to show how clever I am I looked up the ASCII (number) code for each symbol, added 22 to it then converted the numbers back to letters. That gave me the nine letter word “syllabary”. Either I am clever or I am opening myself to be totally ridiculed – we shall see.

I meant to say well done Wally for figuring out the trackword! You should join GCHQ - or maybe you already work there haha!?
