mostly done, got the message, know what to do with the entries but now stuck:

7d Eccentric Scot grabbing German's woollen jacket ....more than 8 letters

38a Flimsy items of china - brownish-yellow, not black .....more than 8 letters

Kirky, I didn't do all of this so can't help with the modified entries. I had Cardigan for 7 D - Card, eccentric, with Ian, Scot and G for German inside.

10 A. As well as Ecu, would Ado. trouble, be in there too - leading to something like Ecuadorian?

Ah! I think I know what to do with those clues now....

A strong hint would help. I can see the words in 10a, 7d and 20d which need to be replaced, but with what?
Also finding 30,32and33d elusive.

I think...
10a replace your word for "like" with a 3 letter word for "present"
7d don't know why but dig is replaced by aim ?
20d clue answer was pull over ... replace "love" by a 4 letter word for "present"
......your crossers should help with what you use for the above 3.
