I've gone for STONED.
One in Sted.
One's getting to be stoned???

the other tricky one for me was 25 dn.
I have W as the first letter - but can't parse the defunct law bit

I can't find anything to fit the crossers apart from "Stoned" for 30 across. My rather tortured parsing is on ("one getting to be so" ie incomplete) in sted (archaic spelling for stead). But I'm struggling for a definition.

It's ON - meaning drunk/stoned - in STED, old place. My understanding is that this is a clunking attempt at an '&lit'.
