Thanks, syzzie! Another quickie, but wonderfully ingenious.

Thanks syzzie, that was good fun (with a little help). Not quick for me, naturally.

A Scotsman a lizard and a piece of string go into a bar. "What's this?" says the mixologist "a joke?"

Thanks, Syzygy, very entertaining puzzle. I hadn't heard the 'movie sign' meaning of 'marquee' before - I'm expanding my North American vocab.

Please could someone parse the clue mattrom refers to for me?
Reversed movie French nobleman read aloud (5)

Hi Ros,
'Reversed' is the spare word, and as did not know before, a 'marquee' is a sign displayed above the entrance to a theatre.

Thank you mattrom

How interesting, about the sign above the theatre. It's only by doing these puzzles I realise how difficult it is sometimes to do those of other countries. To me, a marquee is a tent!

I didn't bother parsing the (4,3) of the clues numbered 5 because it couldn't really be anything else!

Cheers

Cheers syzygy, I'm slowly catching up. Nice concept even if not the most taxing.
