Shame, they fit the description exactly.

They aren't puffins, though ....I don't know how the names got mixed up!

The other 39 answers are in the singular, if I cannot get an answer with 7 letters I will put in plural - puffins. Thanks for your input.

It can't be "puffins" as the Latin name doesn't repeat.
