I'm pretty sure that 1dn is Poppy Day, elaeagnaceae fits the bill for 2 dn but I'm still left with 6 I can't get. However as I've only ever completed this crossword once before I'm quite pleased to et this far! Thanks to everyone for their input.

1d isn't Poppy Day - it's an anagram of "adudpony"
