I've no doubt I'm in a minority ,but this is possibly the least enjoyable Times puzzle I've ever done.

That's a shame Brendan , didn't seem too bad to me - hated the Guardian though.

I truly have no idea what is going on in 17a One badger occupying earth when put back in wild state (8) - DELERIUM - I think MUD might be earth but as for the rest....?
