Looks like it must be CASHBOOKS to get ledgers but again can't see the parsing

1a: I have "cashbooks", too but couldn't fully parse it.
cooks = fudges, but cannot see the rest......

Ashb - is bash ( party) with the first letter changed to the last

Not sure where recording fits in

How about exchanging the first letters (capitals) in party (bash) fudges (cooks) and recording it (writing it down). Hope this helps.
