I apologize for reposting this but no one responded and I wasnt sure if that meant that it was just overlooked or no one could figure it out. This is tricky puzzle! So will post just one more time and hopes of someone solving it.

Can you change the top word into the bottom word in the number of steps indicated in parentheses. Change only one letter at a time and do not change the order of the letters. Proper names, slang, and obsolete words are not allowed.
