I have inserted "homespun" but not entirely convinced i'm correct.

4down Dog Nicola Sturgeon, perhaps with "fix".(7)
I have inserted "curtail" and again not entirely convinced!

7down Some party members are vegetables.(6)
i have ?r?e?s, I was thinking "orlegs", or "armies".

Any help or hints much appreciated.
