I'm stuck on two clues that are linked. 5ac Guide Nick's back to lead first tour (6) I've got ???O?T with second letter going to be first letter of 6d Inspected certain detail, with observer bound by condition (8). I've got ??A?E?E?. I've got ADROIT and DIABETES as possibles but can't parse them. Any thoughts, anybody?

6d is surveyed (10a is arctic)

Got it now. I made a mistake with the 6d clue. The 3rd letter should have been R - from ARCTIC. So 6d is SCREENED. Thanks for previous help. Andy

Are you sure of your letters?
Certain - detail - sur(e) without tail + eye for observer bound by condition - VD - surveyed?
