I've done about 2/3 of the clues, and I can see how the clues are treated. However, I can't see what the last letter of 16a is, nor the first letter of 32a. I have no idea about the 6 thematic entries, although I have one of the long ones. Help please!

Hi Dylan, 16A is aMid movie's...Ivo; 33A (did you mean 33A ?) is Maiden maybe...Rae (Ear is the entry for 3D). Google the thematic entry you have - you may find the theme that way.

All complete except 6 across for which I have MA*TE* and struggling with how to describe the central theme element.

Nearly there but can't see how 11ac works (assuming Mark is involved). Also puzzled by 41ac, which I suppose is Ossian but none of the rest of the clue makes any sense. Where do Mastiffs come from anyway?

Notrab - a kip is divided into bits described by a two-letter word; terrace is a common abbreviation; the answer is thematic.

I'm staring at the completed grid, looking for something to highlight. Can't see anything going through the central square.

Again, Patch, at this time all I can recommend is a google investigation. If you have a completed grid, you'll surely know the author. So look him up. One letter is unusual and is central to what should be highlighted.
