Answer is Figure of Speech, I get the 'of speech' being an anagram of 'chops fee' but where does 'figure' come from?
8. Nasty pains stop fowl becoming pets 6,8.
Answer is Cocker spaniels. So that's an anagram of 'pains' inside cocks (fowl), which leaves the letters 'erel' that I can't account for.
