10a. Are bowled-run ahead-time's short! A?R???
14a State expanded annually. I have entered

Hi Jerry.

An idea for 10a ... ABRUPT (short) = ABR (first letter of each word of 'Are bowled-run') + UP (ahead) + T (time).
