A few tough ones this week!
3 Down - "German I fed to cut hunger" (4) I-C-
ITCH surely, but can't see why?
20 Down - "Girl smiling, apparently content" (4) -N-A
Would have thought ANNA?
Also, two that I've entered, I don't fully comprehend.
14 Down - "Fresh water from a little runnel"
Answer is NEW.
14 Across - "Emperor never leads from inside"
Answer is NERO. Would this be the "N"
of never + ERO from EMPEROR? Extremely
stretched, if so.

Thanks, Elle and Aristophanes! Never knew Inga was a
