Sounds like a double daring jump ( 5,5 )
I have looked through my horticulture book and cannot even find a tree or shrub that remotely fits the clue. Any help would be appreciated

bunji - bunji?

sounds like bungee jumping.

Rusty, some online dictionaries give this as meaning the same as "bunya- bunya" - an Australian timber tree?
Mind you, Chambers doesn't have it!

Hello, ladies!
That was what I was hoping to find, but my Chambers did not have it.
Your selections are much better than mine, and I shall retire "gracefully"!
