The clue is \'Unprincipled man\'s belle, alas troubled going round the bend\'. It\'s 10 letters and I\'ve got _L_A_E_A_L. I\'m fairly sure the letters I\'ve got are correct, but the \'quick solve\' facility tells me there\'s no 10 letter word with this pattern!

Sleazeball - an anagram of "belle alas" and "z" (bend)

"sleazeball" fits the clue, id suggest.. "belle" is in there, as is "alas" around a "bend" or z...

I think it could be SLEAZEBALL which is an anagram of 'belle + alas' + 'z' as in z-bend.

A bit like buses - nothing for 45 minutes and then three come along at the same time!!

Yes, but it took you all nearly three quarters of an hour, rather than the 3 minutes we are all used to.

Seriously though, its great to have such support when you need it

That has to be some kind of record, 3 replies in the same minute?!

Maybe it took us a while, but we got there in the end!!
