Got most of the answers, but how do we thematically treat them for grid entry? Thanks

Try making an anagram of the title (somehow STATELESS).
Remove jumbles of 5 basic types.

Solutions to some of the longer clues have shared groups of letters.
Compare your answers to clues beginning
An Islamic, Aim, Triumphal
OR
Brexiteer, Criminal, Primitive
OR
Frantically, Drear

You are welcome. A welcome relief to me when I eventually stopped trying to extract US State zip codes
e.g. H (AR) (RI) STWEED

I've deduced how to treat the 16 clues before entry (5 groups) but am still stuck on some clues, amongst which are:

Plan about 500 sheets in duplicate (7, two words) - begins with D or E.

On Skye, object to land without sun (5) - 1st letter E.

Place flower on Ed who is drunk (9) - 1st letter O or P.

Any help gratefully received (plus I'd be happy to give help too).

Many thanks Malone. Just 2 left and i think these are the two which are in the OED, which I don't have:

Return of kind follower of Jay for a kilometre (4) - it must be KLIK but don't see why;

Receiver in Rome guilty about money (6). I have R?TI?A. (Retina??)

Any help very gratefully received. If I can help anyone, let me know...
