14a Doctor wise to take two seconds in Olympic sport (8)

I have D?E?S?G? and assume answer is DRESSAGE (Olympic sport)

However, I can't totally parse the wordplay, I can see DR for doctor, perhaps SS for two seconds, and then SAGE for wise, but obviously can't use S in both SS and SAGE! Also then left with an E.

I'm missing something and would appreciate any help.

Perhaps a rap reference

wise to take two seconds = double the S in SAGE = SSAGE
