Help appreciated parsing these....

16a They pinch what's close to me, coming round the night before (7) - THIEVES (They pinch)

I get 'The night before' = EVE, but then 'What's close to me' would have to be THIS, which seems a really loose - or have I misread it?

27a Mint drink, with note in it (5,3) - BRAND NEW (Mint)

4d Suppress, informally, finished times article by its Paris correspondent? (8) - THROTTLE (Suppress)

I can see 'article by Paris correspondent' = LE, but not the rest.

15d In plane maybe a model picked up paper (8) - TREATISE (Paper)

Brendan, I'll have go!
I have thieves too, and agree with you that it appears very loose.
27, Brand new. Drink is a "brew", and=with, n for note.
4, Throttle. Thro' is abbreviation for through/finishes, t + t for time plus time =times. Le for the French article.
15. A plane is a "tree", "a" is in the clue, "sit" is model, reversed giving treatise.
I hope!

11a The Spanish cross about one New Zealand port (8) - ELSINORE (NZ Port)

I think 'The Spanish = EL + 'One' = I, but how is SNORE parsed from 'Cross about' - or is it something different?
