Another very tricky one, I thought. One unsolved:
24a Bother to empty fluid on edge (5)
?R?N?

I can think of lots of answers it might be, but can't justify any of them to my satisfaction.

Also 11a Water engineer blocked by one judge (8)
I?R?G?T?

Pretty obvious what the answer is, but the parsing entirely escapes me.

Any hints on either?

Anne Bradford has rig as a synonym of engineer.

Hello, rusty and chrise,
Agree with you about 11 a.c.. I cannot make any sense of
8 a.c..Airline king is separated by cape islands I have
?a?e?r?c? racetrack does not make any sense to me

Also stumped by 1 d. Go back to unit on the German
comeback. I have ?e???n?e?.

I have various ideas, but would appreciate knowing yours.
