I have a record 'Games People Play', late 60s, by a Joe South, believe he wrote 'Rose Garden' as well. Would he be the same guy you were
mentioning, think he died recently, possible drug related death?

Good evening, Ninian.
Yes, that's the man. Joe South.
I know he died not long ago, not sure about the drugs, though.
Games People Play and Down in the Boondocks would be his best known songs, in my humble opinion!

Ninian, a bit of trivia here.
His first song, a very minor hit, was The Purple People Eater Meets the Witch Doctor, he wrote it with JP Richardson (aka The Big Bopper.)

Thanks for the trivia Rusty, I didn't know of the 'Purple People' connection. Even though it was never a 'classic' I can still remember it
and other tunes of that era, don't think to-days songs will have that much impact.
