Grid completed; trick worked out (a masterpiece of setting, to get all those "Xs" in (where X = something else)). But completely baffled by the clues to 6,5 which has to be written underneath. Does the break between the two clues occur after 15?

I'm baffled too. I have a full grid and the clues to the phrase seem to me to be:
French on whole string accepted
Sad rumours caught going around

Heavy hint on the other site - it's from the Latin mass.
First clue is 3+3+4+1
Second clue is anagram of Sad rumours c
I would never have got this without the hint...

I've looked at the Answerbank site and I cannot see any hint at all, never mind a heavy one - just a query about the extra word in 10a.
I thought the second one might be that anagram but it didn't suggest anything to me. I'll take a harder look.

1246 - I should have known! But thanks anyway, bobbibunny. I found it in the Oxford Book of Quotations under "The Missal". A disappointing end game there - are we supposed to know all the words of the Latin mass now?
