Hi all. First time on the block.
Finished this puzzle 2 days ago but still unsure of my answer to 23Ac
"Road racer designated third, maybe, to lift sporting trophy". (6.3)
I put 'Walker Cup'.
Maybe I've got it wrong or right, but cannot see how it fits with the clue.!!

I also have walker cup (sporting trophy)
I am not sure which driver with surname Walker the road racer refers to (maybe David) + C - third; lift - up

Graham Walker is more likely

Could it not be just a walker ? - someone who competes in a road race (walking)

I was off the track then! ;)
I was thinking of the American road-racers on motorcycles

Thank you guys for your thoughts.
Guess we are all confused. Still cannot fathom out how 'designated third' comes into it.
Think I'll just hibernate until next Saturday.

I think I saw this mentioned elsewhere - Designated third = C (A, B,C) and Up, to lift.
