Several to do but cannot parse them, so explanations as to how you arrived at the answer please.
A) Country music's No.1 album, not the bottom one (4) Is it Mali? If so, why?
B) Manuscript transcribed in Old English (c.510) (5) Codex....doubt it?
C) German city centre obliterated in wartime bombing (6) Not cryptic enough for "WEIMAR". Can't parse this unless it's not cryptic!
D) Bill for man in trying circumstances (4) *E*K. Surely not BEAK....or is it? Maybe PECK?
E) Vitality's answer for one making kill (3) Z*P. Is it ZAP or ZIP? They both mean vitality.
