3d. 'HAG TO BAIL JOHN'. I have 'h-a-t-b-n-o-a. It's a difficult fit so perhaps I have an error. Any help would be appreciated.

Scorpiojo, Thanks for your reply. It's a clue in the Herald Clootie crossword and should have gone under the Clootie but for the proverbial slip of the cursor.
