I thought I'd cracked it , but I just can't crack 46d) Solution required about unfashionable dressmaking (7) I have C?a?u?e. I pondered over couture but the letter A in the Ietters I have is part of the answer to 51a) which I'm fairly sure is "disconsolate" HELP please

Couture sounds right - cure ( solution) around out (unfashionable)
