Saturday's prize xword is finished, if I can be of any assistance.

Hi Robert - this one was easy I thought but I am still missing one clue - 1d "beat the unending spots" I have _A_A_H thinking that rash should be in there somewhere.

THRASH any good?

Thrash is right. th (the unendiig) rash (spots). = beat (to thrash)

Hi, finished today's crossword and thought this was an easier one than normal, however I wonder if anyone could help with an explanation of one clue

20d Face six wise men, not second saint (6)

I got visage = face, vi = six and sage = wise. But I don't understand the reference to second saint

Face = visage vi = 6 ; sages not second saint (s)

Thanks Robert for your prompt response, makes sense now (I didn't realise that saint abbreviated to S)

your right saint is normally st. except when shortening san (as in S Marino). The clue did say .. not second (s) which would make the reference to saint superflous
