I am puzzled by 5 across and 6 down. I have 'emnity' for 6a but that gives me N?A? for 6 down and there are to my knowledge only a few words that fit, and none seem to parse.

Thanks...you know, that word 'enmity' has always been a spook word for me. I record books for the Library of Congress and when I see it coming I have to think hard where the 'm' and the 'n' are. And I have often stumbled as a result.

I had the same problem but now think of enemy to get the letter order
