Is "Fat's common but thin's rare" a quotation or common aphorism? Can't find it anywhere online.

18A No it's not a quote as far as I am aware but note the two dashes (underlines) indicating, I take it, two missing words and the 'but' inviting a contraposition to the two words 'fat' and 'common'
