11 Just an anagram of 'dull guru' and one of the two very common words/abbreviation for 'appeal'.

You've given the wrong clue for the author one - 28 D is the Nymph.., Your letters are correct for 22 D - just a Roman garment and a three-letter word for Barbarian.
