Sorry Judge,but I had drafted a rather impolite post here which I cancelled and rewrote.
I am just about at the end of my tether at the thoughtlessness of many of the people seeking answers and not giving sufficient,or indeed any,information.

Looks like DISPEL = scatter. BUT, I don't get the rest of the clue apart from DI = I'd twisted

Agree can't see the "spel"bit in the clue.How about DISOWN? Sown has meaning in Chambers as "cast off".
Also wheat is sown.
Clutching at straws here methinks.

By golly, Joker, Methinks I've got it. Not sure I like the clue though!
DI + SPEL(T) Spelt = wheat. 'lots of' = 'most of'???
