I need only two letters to finish this. There could be a misprint in the definition.

32 A. A tangle rector found in back of neglected border (6)
d?ed?e

'Dredge' would have R, rector, D from the end of 'neglected' and Edge, border - but I don't see how it fits the rest of the clue.

The only other word to fit seems to be Diedre, a rock angle/corner.

Chambers gives a definition for tangle as
A naturalist's dredge, consisting of bundles of frayed rope..

Do you need a misprint letter to make up the 8? If so any idea what would go with your other 7 to spell out part of the theme's source?

So .... you must already have the 8. Dredge looks good!

Thanks, sudokulover. I didn't bother with all eight misprints - I knew what the 'source' was.
