26 across A meeting of tongues, splashing fluid (9)

The answer is SPANGLISH, an anagram of splashing. Another peculiar portmanteau word meaning a mixture of Spanish and English.

Another odd word - HANGRIEST - was mentioned on Countdown a while ago. That means being the angriest person due to being hungry and it's in the OED!
